Norway with its 5 million inhabitants is one of the richest countries in the world and on a per capita basis it is the largest producer of Oil and Natural Gas outside of the Gulf States. In 2012 the Democracy Index classified it as the most democratic country in the world.

Norway’s major industries are Oil and Gas, Hydroelectric Power (it has been a pioneer in many forms of renewable energy) and the Fisheries Industry, with the manufacturing, petrochemical and mining industries making up over 30% of the national GDP. Maritime, Forestry, Healthcare and IT are also major revenue generators for the Government; the maritime industry alone employs over 100,000 people.
